see much. Very dark + cloudy, getting cool. Paris identified a lot of plants for me.
Additional birds seen during the day were: Sparrow Hawk,
Turkey Vulture, Purple Finch, Black Phoebe, Warbling Vireo, Blue Headed
(Solitary) Vireo, Black-Throated Gray-Warbler, Chipping Sparrow, Bush-Tit,
Nutall Woodpecker, Stellar Jay, Calif.
Thrasher, Cowbird, White Crowned Sparrow,
16 April. Out at 0600. Saw these birds in morning until about 0815: Calif. Thrasher,
Gray Spotted Towhee House Wren, House Finch,
Y.B. Waspie, Calif. Trail, Cowbird, Plain
Untomore Brush-Tit Red-shafted Flicker,
Morning Dove, W. Meadowlark Black-Thro-
Gray Warbler, Violet Green Swallow, Band-
tailed Pigeon, Purple Finch, Sparrow Hawk,
Goose Hawk, Orange Crowned Warbler,
Pileolated Warbler, Brown Towhee, Hermit
Thrush, Black-headed Grosbeak, Warbling
Vireo, Western Flycatcher, Western Bluebird,
Calif. Woodpecker, Oregon Junco. Later,
0915-1200 with Dr. Miller & Bill H. Saw
Lincoln Sparrow Anna Hummingbird, Wren-Tit,
Golden Crowned Kinglet, Ruby Crowned Kinglet,
Black-tailed Gnatcatcher, Bulluck's Oriole, Yellow
Warbler, Benrich War, Yellow Throat, Hutton's
Vireo, Black Phoebe, Pileolated Warbler, Golden
Crowned Sparrow, Stellar's Jay. Dr. Miller was
very helpful in pointing out the birds and
identifying the nests. Also saw Downy Woodpecker,
(Also saw herd of 9 deer, plus a few singles)
