14 May Bear (E) of Menis Faculty Club. Two
birds heard farther East. One flew
into Sequoia, flew away with long piece
of string.
19 Mar NW Women's Fac. Club, along creek.
Both members of a pair are gathering
pine nesting material (grass?) clay
creek bank. Flew to Conifer N. J
Fac. Club maybe beyond. When I got in
position to watch they stopped, took another
load as soon as I moved. I then saw one
in Sequoia, one in Langel. Several more
loads. One from by Menis Fac. club,
with material went into Sequoia came
back empty. 'T was maybe 30 ft up
in the tree.
21 Mar N Conell Hoys - Bird flew into clump
of bushes, sat on ground pecking at area
of drift, bright red clay. It appeared to be eating.
Thought at first he was digging grubs, but
could find nothing but the clay. Flew off toward
next area. Did not seem to be holding anything.
7 May Faculty Glade - One bird on
lawn digging up x eating earthworms.
Actions very similar to Robin, including
hopping and turning head.
