Banks, R.C. 1955 8. 13 November. Set 24 mus. sp. 2 rat traps off Donald Rd. 2 1/2 mi E, 1 1/2 mi S. Orinda, 1150 ± ft., Contra Costa Co. Area was steep hillside, covered with poison oak and Baccharis pilularis. Set traps 12 Nov. P.M. Sun. A.M. picked up traps in pouring rain. Got 1 ♀ Meristis californicus (R.C.B. 23), 5 Perognathus truei (4♂ 1♀). Sawed 3 as R.C.B. 24,25,26. Others measured ♂ 162-75-20-20, ♂ 145±57±20-20. (Tail partly gone). Also had two too badly chewed to identify, probably truei. 18-20 November J. Ondrias + I set 50 traps on Mulholland Hill, (Donald Rd). 2 1/2 mi E, 1 1/2 mi S. Orinda, 1150±ft., Contra Costa Co, Calif., just around dark on Fri, 18 Nov. A gentle mist was falling. John set some along thistle row on one side of road, mine + the rest of Johns were in Baccharis pilularis on other side of road, and down very steep bank. Sat A.M. we had a very unusual haul. We had a total of of 22 animals. This included 1 ♀ Sorex trowbridgei, one ♂ Meristis californicus, 1 ♂ Perognathus californicus, 1 ♂ Mus musculus,
