Proventriculus: Very clearly marked from outside. Esophagus suddenly widens, t is quite expanded. A slans extends from dorsal part of gizzard across prov. Esoph. is smooth on inner surface for most if way, but has folds for last part, which extend into prov. Wall of prov. is considerably thicker than that of esophagus. Villi lined w horny layer from slans down (see p2.) but wall is not real muscular to horny ridge.
Gizzard: Very thick walled. Lined with horny layer. Contained a number of small yellow seeds and what looks like grass (leaves). Apparently all vegetable material. No gravel.
Ovital wall 7mm, Ventral wall 5mm, thick, lateral walls fairly thin, Dorsal wall 5mm. Light colored ridges on outside correspond to heaviest parts of gizzard wall. They seem to be quistle-like or maybe glandular areas in muscle of wall. These areas do not appear to be muscle.
Duodenum: Opens from right wall of gizzard, anteriorly, ff just below prov. Extends on right side of loopy as loop to bottom of colon, somewhat center from ventral, swinging left to midline. Turns dorsal and right, loops back anteriorly to lower edge of right lobe of liver. Pylons hidden by liver. End of duodenum barely under
