Family took a ride out to road leading by
West Park of Jefferson State Park. Here about
4 P.M. I shot 2 chihuacces and a downy
woodpecker. (See species accounts.) They
were in a general flock of chickadees, tufted
titmice, and white-breasted nuthatches. Also
saw one red-bellied woodpecker. All these
birds were in the deciduous trees by the
parking lot, at edge of open area + woods.
