Banks 1957 Journal 15. 10 April U.C Campus, Berkeley Bill Nisbet used balance today to weigh Hummingbirds (allen) for Zoo 113 project. 12 April. Rained during the night, and rained pretty hard at 6 A.M. today as I was en route to school. I did some field work from 8-9, but very little. Got a key from the Athletic Dept. courtesy Mr. England, for the track stadium. 13 April Around campus 6-9, then to Tilden Park till 10:30, back to campus. No luck in the park area. 2 P.M., collected a hatchling Zenaida auripygus. It was pipped in A.M., but in P.M. was still half in shell. 14 April. Rained last evening + night, but streets were dry (+) this A.M. + it was pretty well breaking up by 0700. 16 April Began to rain in afternoon, and was still raining hard at 6 P.M. I did not check my nests at this time. (7) April Dusk + overcast in morning. Heard a bird singing at 0500 hrs. at home. Found nest J. In the afternoon came a sudden hard rain with hail. Overcast and dusk at 5:30 P.M. Will be dark early tonight. At 6 PM, while working on Vert C, began to rain. Shipped J.
