Barbo, B.C. 1956 Journal 18 20 11 March Oakland Calif - Gulls, Reddy Ducks, Gandras Bachs Scamp, Anoret and Ring Billed Gulls as me approached Bay Bridge. Went down Skyline Blvd. to Half Moon Bay. Saw Egzomow Hawk Red Tailed Hawk. Beach N of Half Moon Bay, S of El Miramir [illegible] Cought garter snake in field. Dead surf scoter on beach. Jay collected his head and stomach. Saw Sanderlings, about 10 and 2 Snowy Plowers. Drove N, collecting plants + looking. Arrived home about 8 PM, keyed plants til midnight. 12 Mar U of C Campus, Berkeley - Look an Egys & White Crowned Sparrows. 17 Mar Mt Diablo Contra Costa Co, Calif - 200 (25C (Ecology) field trip. Saw Orange Crowned Warbler, Turkey Vulture, Heard Pursons Crowned Sparrow, Calif Thrasher. 18 Mar Marina Co, Calif - J Schnell, RECS. Left home about 0830. Collected plants in AM. afe lunch at Min Beach. Saw 2 & Golden- Eyes. Lots of Grows, water birds. N of Stinson Beach saw Long Billed Curlew, Northern Grebe, Goldeyes, Reddy Ducks, B.B. Heron, Belted Kingfisher, American Egret Several Black Crowned Night-Herons, Surf Scoter, White Winged Scoter, Calif Gull, Western Gull, 1 Pufflehead, Started home about 3 PM, arrived Berkeley around 5 PM. Keyed plants until midnight.
