Banks 1957 Journal 16. 18 April 1957 U.C. Campus, Berkeley Alameda Co. Calif. Weighted the birds again. It rained off and on all night, all nests were wet. Nest C were all dead. 1.5mi S, 1mi E Orinda, 750 +/- ft, Contra Costa Co. Calif. Visited this area to get some alcoholic material for Anatomy project. Shot an Aphleboroma cearlescens and an Agelains probins (Perry) which I preserved as alcoholics. Also shot a Vireo gilvus and one of a pair of Sialia motacianus, saved for skins. Put up the Vireo in the P.M. U.C. Campus Berkeley Alameda Co. Calif. It has been pretty fair day today, some cloudiness this morning. 20 April Rained during the night, and was rather cool.-still is now at 0545. Overcast. Sprinkling slightly while working at Vert C. in +M. 0615. Overcast with sprinkles, cleared up + sun came out late in afternoon. 27 April, Spart 3 hrs. in A.M putting up a coneol and that Ray Pickman brought in. 28 April, Daylight savings time began today. Although hours indicated at nest checking time are late, "sun time" is same as before. Clocks turned ahead. 29 April Dark early this evening, due to fog. Unusual observation on Scub Jay. Today, after 2 very warm days, was fairly cool. Also cool tonight.
