Banks, R.C. 1955 7. 4-6 Nov. Fri. PM, 4 Nov.; set 12 mus. sp. and 2 rat traps in and around field near bottom of hillside in same area as last week, 3.5 mi. N. Orinda, 700 +/- ft. Contra Costa 6. Set 12 mus. sp. + 2 rat traps about 200 yds. up side ravine, in and near area of dead brush. Many holes under brush, about a dozen wood rat homes nearby. Sat AM (5 Nov.) had 1 ♀ Peromyscus truei, no embryos, in first area. One rat trap in other area sprung. (RCB 20.) Sun. AM had 1 ♂ Reithrodontomys megalotis in second area. (RCB 21) Found ♂ Didelphus virginiana DOR, about .7 mi E. of San Pablo Rd. on Bear Creek Rd, 1 mi. N., .5 mi. W of Orinda, 400 +/- ft. Very big and fat. Good shape, good skull, fled some around more. Took about 4 1/2 hrs. to put him up as RCB 22.
