Many head feathers, esp. on near head, out. Other tracts well feathered. Upper tail coverts out. Rectrices about 3 1/2 mm. R-1 18.3 gm. 8+4 Prim. 15 mm. all primaries and secondaries out. Most coverts out Many head feathers out. Most rectrices broken thru. Greenhouse Area, Nest F No bird around nest, eggs are cold. Nest deserted for sure. Cone Univ & Fulton No sign of either young or adult birds. Main gate off Campus A pair of tirds in hedge across wide area from policeman's hut. Became very excited as I probed in low bushes + hedge. One of the birds is singing. Could not find nest - but there is one! Bancroft, Nest H. 1960 L-1 16.9 gm. 8+4 Prim. 15 mm. 4+4 rt. + 9+4 left primaries out out. all secondaries out. 3d left, 1st rt. prim, govert (greater) out. A few on back of head, very few on neck out. Upper tail coverts out. Tail (outer) 3 mm. Gaped! + some land legging notes when replaced. R-4 16.9 gm. 8+4 Prim. 17 mm. all remiges out. RT. 1,5,6,7, left 1,3,4,5 greater prim. coverts not out. Rectrices out, outer measures 4 mm. All tracts well feathered.
