Zonotrichia leucophrys 49 26 April Barcroft, Nest H 12.8 gm. 8th Prim. 5.5mm. Gave faint squeaks in my hand. Feathers same as R-1, eyes not open. All birds stretched head down extended, rest on all ventral surface. All raised erect and gaped strongly when I first reached in or replaced me. 27 April 05:55 14.5 gm. 8th Prim. 8 mm. Eyes open. A few humeral and a good many ventral feathers out of sheaths. Both parts of ventral tract appear now, L-1 11.2 gm. 8-6th Prim. 5 mm. Eyes apparently not quite open, at least not kept open. Eyes are open when gazing. Some sheaths of all tracts thin skin, very few on thigh. White wing. R-4/1 12.5 gm before defecation, 12.0 after. 8th Prim. 7 mm. Very few humeral, good many ventral feathers out of sheaths. Barrow Home, Nest K No change at 0615. Barcroft, Nest H 18:20 R-1 19.3 gm. 8th Prim. 10mm. Two outer secondary coverts each wing out of sheath. Most flank + abdominal feathers out. Most humeral + many mid-back absent. Rectrices sheaths at of skin 2 mm at most. Neck drawn in sometimes, extended sometimes. R-1 & L-1 stretched, gaped, squealed in rest.
