Eggers Cave Brake Canyon, 1200+ ft., San Diego, Calif.
earlier. It was cloudy with intermittent rain all day. Walt had 2 grey foxes (Urocyon) in Mr. Egger's steel traps. Charlie had 1 Citellus
lateralis, 1 Perognathus, 3 Peromyscus.
Vallejo Valley, 900+ ft., San Diego, Calif. C.B. Canyon.
We had a few gopher traps set here along the main road. Had 1 & gopher this A.M.
Charlie + I set them again, a total of 30 traps.
Later had another 2. I did one, Charlie the other.
Nothing in the desert trap line today.
Tres Palmas, Vallejo Valley, 900+ ft., San Diego, Calif.
John + I set 75+ mmc. sp., 3 Shyfar traps in the desert floor near here. Walt set 3 steel traps. This was late in evening, just before dark. It was cold, raining hard part of the time.

Charlie did most of the skins today. Walt skinned out one fox, I did the sparrow and the gopher. Observed a Costa's Hummingbird rather closely. Saw Palisa Phantigela, Western Bluebird, [illegible] around here. Set shor traps

Checked traps here this AM. Had 13 Thomays, 2 Peromyscus. It had rained in the night hard part of the time. Went to Tres Palmas about 9:30 to noon. In [illegible] the afternoon did skins, then about dark shot a Canpodius mexicanus and an Amphispiza nevadensis. Put them up in the evening. The gopher, # 170, was a very large ♂.
