15 May NW Lower Men's Far Club West W - Weighed
these birds at a little after 1700 hrs. The last
egg has hatched. The eyes of the chicks are
are beginning to open just a crack. The
feather tracts showing darker but are not
coming through yet. Still no sound that I
could hear. There is not much if any
change in appearance since yesterday.
The birds didn't leg as much when
I touch nest. They did not all leg at once.
16 May S LSB near road - & boy young
singing dragged to ground and ran a
few feet with wings outstretched.
NW Lower Men's Far Club West W - Weighed the
birds about 1745 hrs. Eyes are open a
little (1/2 mm?) Primaries are out about 1cm
except in the smallest + youngest. Saw
an animal turn & make a hasty retreat
while I was at the nest. Expect to find
it destroyed.
17 May Still ok this morning.
S LSB along stream - Have been trying
to relocate this pair (bad nest X). Yesterday
the weeds where X was located were cut.
This morning the & was singing and
there seemed to be some courtship activities.
Possibly their second nest was destroyed. Will
watch them in a few days.
Near LSB. There is definitely a nest in
the brush patch between park lot & stream.
Did not find it but am positive from actions
of &. When I find it it will be V.
