Berks 1957 Zorotichia l.nuttallii 9, 23 March 57 Inside NW corner Edwards Field, Berkeley track Pair of birds bee at same place as a pair last year. One sitting on well. One appeared, fled in grass. There is one large clump of vine over top of wall. As I investigated this, a bird in it gave every indication of having a nest. Could not locate nest - it may be on very top of wall. Inside SE Corner Track Field, Berkeley A bird under Arbovitae-7 tree seemed nearly much disturbed! Another (young?) bird in corner bush, does not appear to be suitable nest sites inside stadium. These birds have been very quiet - little today + all spring. West door Men's Gym, U.C., Berkeley. A bird singing in tall shrub. It was here earlier in the year. Also I saw it early today (it's now 9:20 AM). Looked for a nest around bottom of the tree earlier, but could find nothing. With just one isolated limb, even this size, it seems unlikely. Bill Mober reports this bird bee nearly every day. It may be same bird (probably is) that sings from SE corner Men's Gym. Beneath along Athletic Field Upper Sec. Nest A. at 9:30 AM still 2 eggs. Incubation is in progress - flushed bird off nest. Murtlea complete set. Same, Center Section - at extreme upper part of center section, 2 birds feeding in grass. One seemed to be W-1 of last year. Somewhat disturbed when I stopped to write notes.
