It very actively legged as I held it, By now it could sit erect in my hand, but tended to fall over backward. It flopped off the balance pan. Liver and other organs still plainly visible thru skin. Light areas appear to be feather tracts under wings. Remiges appear dark, may soon be out. Made very faint squeaky sounds. Barncroft West A No hatch yet at 1700. 2 April Greenhouse West B 0630, Bird weighs 4.5 gm. Not as active as last night. No change in appearance. When I put the mirror up, it legged, then slouched to side of nest and put head down. Seemed weak this morning. Barncroft West A No change at 06/5, S Side entrance to Ruinelle Hall Heard singing bird here. It got silent as I approached + I didn't hear it any more. S side Grounds + Bldgs, Nest E Still empty Bird singing loudly across Baron as I was at nest. Barncroft Lane upper S end Adam Bldg. Saw + heard pair of birds. Chipping, very disturbed in area of Canathus + first small staked tree. Also heard trilling.
