Banks, D.C. 1936 Song Sparrow 15. 15 Mar. Beneath along ath Field, Center section - 4 bird feeding almost at corner end of center section. Looks small. Corner Barnow + Ehleman - Bird singing from fencepost by hedge. 15 min. later had moved 7 fenceposts S, still singing. Returned to original post as I walked by. E. of Union - Bird singing in angle of paths to Art Gallery + Cafeteria. Another in line and just E of fountain. Third bird sang from near building N of bridge. As far as I could tell there are no females in any of these areas. E. Side Wheeler Hall No birds! 0730. NW corner Wheeler Hall - A bird sang twice. A pair bee- chasing. Also a pair of fox sparrows. Can hear bird at SE corner Wheels from here. Between LSB + Calf Hall - Bird singing from price N end of field. Flew to flag-pole area, sang from both large thigs in tree. Then went to S side of field + sang. 16 Mar. Corner Ehleman and Barnow - 2 bird singing at corner of hedge. A & across street by Art Gallery tilled. I flew to line oak at corner of Art Gallery. Both birds were giving note - I flew across to hedge. Two males one chasing other, flew across, flushing. One male stopped, sang for several minutes along hedge, by Barnow tree, in several spots. I continued to till, but was ignored.
