Melopsitta melach 7 April Stream S of LS3, Nest 2. Bird when in balance box sat on just his feet. Other bird still sits on [illegible] whole tarsus. Both birds sat on edge of nest after being replaced. 1800hrs Rt. 16.8 gm. Prim. 26mm, out 6mm. All prim. out about same. Rectrices cut 3 mm. All out but a few on part of head by bill. Left. 16.0 gm. Prim. 27mm, at 2-6mm. 8th Prim. badly out of sheath. Fewer head feathers out than on other bird. This one left the nest hopped several feet away on ground when I took other one out of nest. Both zaped in hand but were quiet in hand + or balance. 8 April 0630 Right. 15.4 gm. Prim. 27. Crown stripe shows light on dark crown. Streakings show on upper breast. Jumped from my hand with loud notes but I retrieved him. Defecated in the process (He). Left. 14.2. Fewer forehead feathers out than on other. Stripe on head hardly shows. Defecated before weighing. Put both birds in nest together but don't know how long they'll stay. Ntl Long Mar Fox Club Nest found box 5 Apr is empty yet. Dead leaves in bottom probably indicate it is an old one. Still a singing bird close by.
