Richmond, B.C. 1956 Pine Siskin Spinus pinus 4 March NW Wheeley Hall, UC Campus - Some 20 of these birds feeding in low junipers at corner of building. Very pretty. They would sit on top of a branch, pick things off bottom of it, stretching and craning was very interesting. Yellow wash along primaries very evident. Some seemed to have dark faces; others more or less same color as rest of head. When disturbed flew as groups to Cedrus across street to come Library. 9 March - SW lower Campus Cafeteria - Flock of about 10 birds feeding in Junipers. 18 April - U.C. Campus, Berkeley - Small flock seen feeding on (worm) Live Oak.
