White Crowned Sparrow.

28 Jan. S.W. corner Men's Gym campus.
Small flock (4♂ 4♀ 1) feeding in grass.
Along Michson Dr., E. of road bridge.
One bird sitting flat on ground, not
standing, hopped ok. for short distances, may
have had broken or missing leg. Member of
small flock.
31 Jan. Between LSB and Cobb Hall
Small flock, N. final.
10 Feb. Bancroft St. along Athl. Field.
Pair of White Crows. Have seen them for
several preceding days, act very secretive.
Today we sitting about 4ft high, sang
several times. The other flushed from under
some Cotoneaster, then continued feeding
pretty much in open. Singing bird flew
W. when people approached, sang in
another bush, then was silent, feeding on
ground in that area. I grudge singing
birda ♀, the ♂ gave note a few
times, a sharp, high pitched "peek". ♂
came back into open to feed more
readily than ♀ after pedestrians passed.
Farther east in same strip, another
White Crown sang, did not bother the
first pair. This pair was E. of drive
ging into Athl. field, fed in grass. One
(♀)? carried piece of food into bushes other
followed. Pedestrian came, both birds
flew E., disturbing Song Sparrow. Pedestrians
chased W.h. W. again, where both lit
about 4 ft through in alush. One gave "peek"
as before. This one was louder, sat in
