She paid no attention to people walking by. Entered river, quiet for about 1 min., returned w/o material. 1 light pole, 2 packing meters + 4 ft. S of Banow, N side of Bancroft, about 8 ft. up in riv. Mar. 17 Banow lower N and Adam Bldgs. (opp.) Bird carrying nest material. Mate flew toward Adam Bldg. She dropped material, joined him. 20 Mar. Bancroft along 4th Field Center Section W-2 and U-3 feeding together at 1st + 2nd parts of this section. Another bird rising from around corner on Ellsworth St. Another pair by part 4 of the section. One re-banded, prob. A. These were making huge fuss, maybe copulating or fighting. Flew opposite directions. Later, U-2+U-3 eating popcorn (popped) at extreme lower end of section. Other pair has disappeared. Banow lower E. of Adam Bldgs. - a bird in shrubby Phloxia. Went thru hedge, into field. Not sure it was white crown. A bird trilled mightily from small tree opp. S. end Adam Bldgs, when disturbed. Continued chirping after I had passed. Pair in tree. Joined fly song sparrow, which was chased (not violently). Continued chirping alarm note. Black cat appeared out of hedge. When it left birds stopped chirping.
