Gaped + squealed once in my hand. 6 April 0600 hrs. Weight 15.1 gm. Prim. 14mm. Crouched low when I put the mirror up. Gave a squeak + then protest notes as I tried to lift it from nest. Some flank feathers + a couple back feathers out now. Also a couple tertiary coverts on each side. S & E long Prim + Fulton Vert & F Marked. 17.45 gm. Prim. 13mm. 3+6 Primaries out of sheath. Many locks, most flank, few least neck feathers out. Feathers of humerus, secondary coverts out. Unmarked - 16.4 gm. Prim. .14mm. 2" + 9 1/4" primaries out, 3" barely in all, fewer feathers out than in other bird. Released in my hand before weighing. Marked bird gaped when I replaced unmarked bird. Sriole Groundst Bluffs, Nest E 3 eggs today. No 4 incubating while I was there - probably incomplete clutch. Barnow lane, opp. S end Adm Bluff Quiet here when I arrived, but soon a bird sang toward Bancroft, then flew from that way to a small tree, sang a few times, went into lower bushes, then disappeared. I searched but could find nothing. However I found a singing bird opp. being part of Adm Bluff.
