Banks 1957 Tundrus migratorius 4. 29 Mar. 57 U.C. Campus, Berkeley, Alameda W., Calif. Near Adam Bldg. saw a bird sitting on ledge holding a beakful of nesting material. First indication of nesting I've seen this spring. Bancroft along 8th Field Lower Sec. Found 3 left secondaries + 12 back feathers, which checked later in MVZ turned out to correspond to T.M. propinquus. Men's Faculty Club Beginnings of nest in Berkeley. 15 April. After a few days more this nest was deserted. 22 April Gardens of Men's Fac. Club, Campus Found remains of a bird in 3 parts - head with part of skull, wings and breast, and posterior and tail legs. Brought one tarsus and foot, and 3 rectrices to M.V.Z., identified it as or Robin. 26 April S.of LSB, campus A nest about 10-12 ft up in a tree, against main trunk where 2 small limbs grow out & up. [illegible] One bird left nest as another approached. It looked like it fed, then left. Later ♀ came and settled on nest. 10 May. S.of LSB. Alfred Giovinini found one bird/dead in nest + saw it tone. It was already hatched when nest was found by him May 3. 39.7 gm #193.
