Parus minoratus 2. Zaner 1956 25 Apr. SW corner Deer at Annex - Young still in nest. When I hit wall under hole, they make lot of noise. 30 Apr. This morning young were very loud and could be heard from a considerable distance when I approached the nest. 1 May Young still in nest and making a loud noise, both when I tap wall and when parent birds feed. Both parents in area. 11 May Young birds are still in the nest. Both parents still feeding. 12 May No sounds from tapping on side of building. Young have either left nest or been killed. No sign of young or adults anywhere in area. 24 June Black Hills, 26 mi N Orinda Village, 102 ft. Catalato, Calif. Caught in ms. special mouse trap baited with walnut. Chaparral, N side hill. Ad ?, tectus 1 mm, no fat. Skull very thick. 957 12 June 1957 Pigeon 1/2 mi. S. Pigeon Spring, 6400 ft. Esmeralda Co., Nevada In Pigeon, in a canyon off the Pigeon Springs road, ran into a flock of 6 or 20 plain tits. Shot 1, which was in bad shape, saved head only for identification. It is a ?, tectus 2 mm. Shot another of same group later, skin # 222, a juvenile ?.
