Banks, K.C. 1456 Song Sparrow 2 March S. side Cafeteria One song sparrow chipping in low junipers and on railing. 4 March E. side Wheeler Hall - as I came all was quiet. Then bird at NE corner Wheeler began to sing. After 3 or 4 songs, a bird sang at SE corner, moved to center of wall. Both were quiet after a few more songs. Bird in center sang some very weak songs. There was now a pair of birds in center, possibly a pair at NE corner. There are definitely 2 pairs of birds here. The boundary seems to be a little North of the center of the building. S.E Corner Bannew-Lane + Eshleman Rd - Bird singing from ledge, right at corner. Flew S. to farthest fence post, about 50-60 ft. Sang from this post. Then flew. 8 March Edge Parking Lot, SE door <SB - Bird singing in leafless brick. Stopped when White thrushes in area started to fight, Maybe some bird singing later along N edge of parking lot. SW corner Wheeler Hall - Bird singing on top of pressed Platanus . Not there on my return 5 minutes later. 9 March Corner Eshleman Rd + Bannew-Lane - Song Sparrow in lawn of housing office. Flew across street to ledge, where he sang. Some distance E of Bannew Lane. Think I saw 2 birds here, but am not sure. Flew to the access street, even farther from corner.
