Barba 1957 Zonotrichia leucophrys. 12. 25 March 57 Greenhouse Area, West B No change. 26 March 57 S.W. corner Ellsworth + Durant, A pair of birds building a nest on Ellsworth side of this medical building. The one bird I guess gathering twigs, grass, etc. from the lawn & street nearby & is flying into the top of the hedge-like shrub at the beginning of the lower back part of building. The other was feeding in the lawn. He was chirping rather loudly at first, altho. I haven't actually found the nest, will call it E. Bancroft along 4th. Field Lane Sec. West C. Still one egg in this nest. The birds were in the nearby area however. Lane, Upper Sec., West A. No change Greenhouse Area, West B No change 27 March 21-26 Bancroft At rear of this house, where a white crow flew earlier in week. Today birds hopping along notes. Saw a cat in area. One bird in a large bush in yard - am sure there must be a nest here. I chased cat - didn't look for nest. Sparks Florist, 21-25 Bancroft - A bird singing on roof tee. Much adequate nesting cover around house.
