While I was handling young, adult
bird (I think) was chipping very
close by. She went through a
feeding displacement behavior - pecking
very hard at seed heads of grass and
at the ground, mostly pecking at and
pulling the grass flower heads. The
actions were much faster and stronger
than in typical feeding behavior.
