All feathers have broken thru sheath, but
there is still much down attached,
Set Sheaths still observable plainly on flight
feathers all gone on others. (Seen on coverts).
Banded this bird - which gaped in my hand,
@ leg gout, band # 24/180301
Unmarked 13.7gm. Prim. 20mm out 0-3mm.
Head feathers not as farce above - sheaths
still evident here. Prim. 9,8 on right not
out 9,8,7 on left. Primary coverts not
out. Banded # 24/180302 on left leg.
This nest was at 90° or more when I got
there this morning, presumably from the heavy
winds last night. I set it horizontal.
Both birds were in nest, don't see how.
They were clinging tightly, almost upside down.
Both gaped a lot this morning - Probably
had not been fed yet today. These
birds are about to leave nest. Marked
