2.
Wooden Bridge E of Shannon Hall, Berkeley,
could only see 1 feeding in original area then,
and there were no answering calls. In a
complement or so called from other side of original
area - shortly answered by bird on W. side of creek.
A little competitive singing now. - Saw 3
birds on ground in original area. Two flew
away in a chase - remaining one was a Song
Sparrow. Did not get to identify the ones that flew,
Believe there may be 2 males in this area.

NE corner Durant + Ellsmath, Berkeley.
Saw a song sparrow here along Ellsmath.
It was chased by a White Crown. Later heard
one singing around E. side of house.
Bridge SW. of LSB, near road
A bird singing from S side of bridge flew
to N side + continued singing when I
walked by. Sang at least 2 different songs.
I walked N along creek; it flew back S.
1st bend in creek N of bridge, near Naval Blgs.
Saw 2 (I think) other birds feeding base. Not
close to each other; No sign of gathering
nest material.
Downstream, at 1st bend to South,
A bird singing at far end (S.end) of S running
part of stream, in area of Building. Flow, Pasp,
Another close, bathed in stream. Flew to
bush overhanging stream, preened under both
wings alternately, w/ much shaking. It flew to
another tree upstream (E) + preened more, then
to N., to edge of Eucalyptus grove. One singing
stopped meantime.
