Aselaria phoenix - phoenix 5 sharply, and turning left makes a half moon to cloaca. Large intestine: About midway, and at farthest left point of half-moon, the paired caeca come off. From the last angle, the gut widens -- the large intestine is no wider than the last part (i.e., post- angle) of small intestine. Caeca: Left caecum, 3 mm. Actually is ventral, other is right or lateral. Extends anteriorly along large small intestine, right to its outer wall. Right caecum extends at angle from gut wall, and is 2 mm. long. Both are light colored. Mucic: There is a duct from liver leading to intestine just at bend that marks end of duodenum. Lengths: Cut out cloaca, removed gut by cutting all ligaments. Tube broke just after end of duodenum, where shot had pierced it. Stretched gut out as flat as possible w/o stretching its tissue. tot. st: 163 Duodenum 41 mm. Small int., to last angle 110 mm.
