Barke (1957) Zantachia limballis 53 29 April Bancraft, Nest H R-1 20.9 pm. 8th Prim. 17 mm. Jumped off balance. All rectrices out. 1st rt. + 1st left greater prim coverts only ones not out. All tracts well feathered, crown stripe not yet well evident. Sits w/ head up but drawn in. Outer tail feather 5mm +, all birds sat sane. Edge of nest is fouled up excreta Banow Lane, Nest K No change at 1900. 30 April Bancraft, Nest H 0645 R-4 15.4 pm 8th Prim. 18mm. Back+neck well feathered, show no sheaths. Crown stripe shows well. Breast spotting somewhat evident but large bare spot on chest. Outer rectrix 6mm, Rt. great Prim coverts 1,5,6,7, left 1,3,5 are not the sheath. Wont prim only 2mm out. L-1 15.2 pm 8th Prim, 16 mm. Would not stay on balance - jumped off repeatedly. Crown stripe not evident. Not enough feathers free of sheaths, Back + neck well feathered, No sheaths slow. Rt. 1,5,7,8 left +2,3,6,7,8 greater prim. covets out. Tail (out) 4mm. all rectrices-the sheaths. R-1 18.4 mm, 8th Prim, 19 mm. Tail (out) 6mm. Crown stripe showing gone, no sheaths from mid-crum to tail. 7. First g. prim on each side not out. Hard to replace in nest. R-4, R-1 set on fingers only.
