Turdus migratorius
Robin
2?
10 Apr. E. Drinelle Hall, Loquat tree (S side)
Building nest about 9 ft up in loquat
tree, east one on south. Very tame -
came to nest while I was beneath
it, not 2 feet away. She is carrying
mud. She brings a load arranges it,
the nest sits in nest and arranges, then
flies off toward creek. The outside of
the nest is almost entirely chickweed
Stellaria (?), still green, but wilting.
This hangs down and is very
straggly, not neat like most Robin
nests.
20 Apr. N.E corner Men's Fox Club - Nest in Undulularia,
about 30 ft from stream level, 25 ft from
walk level. In fork in large N.E branch.
Very straggly outside and bottom, with
material hanging down a foot or so.
From clipping of a bird while she is
incubating.
E Drinelle Hall, S. side Plaza - Have not seen
any activity around this nest since 11 Apr.
27 Apr. S of SW entrance LSB - Nest on
horizontal branch of live oak (Q sp.),
12-95 ft above ground, where a
cluster of small branches originate.
Pair of birds on ground in area.
SE corner LSB - Robin building nest in
fork (at main trunk) of Cupressus,
about 10 ft high.
30 Apr. N.E Corner Men's Fox Club - Bird setting
on nest this morning.
