Barnow Lane Nest M
1910 R-1 4.4 gm. Dark spots along back,
over head, on humerus, dark streak on
wings. A few spots on thigh.
R-3 3.3 gm. Same as other.
Both birds gaping in my hand.
Nest still contains 2 eggs, neither pipped.
When they stretch straight up to gaze, they
fall over backwards. Often just raise
neck + front of body, resting on backle
+ abdomen.
Barnow Lane Nest K
1918 R-3 21.2 gm. F+4 Pinn. 20+mm.
Groom stripe shows well. Rt. g.p.c.
1,5,8; left not out. All other pinn,
see, + covert out. Upper+ lower tail
coverts, tail, and feathers all out. Skeaths
not covered in resting bird. Sits ni
my hand on toes + ankles, neck drawn
in.
R-1 22.7 gm. 8+4 Pinn. 20+mm.
Appears very same as R-3. Defecated
before weighing. Got off balance once.
L-1 18.7 gm.
Left g.p.c. H, Rt. g.p.c. not out.
R-1 tried to run, + chips of adults alarmed
L-1 robe got off balance continually tried
to escape. Have a few fright notes.
