13. 12 Mar. N Side Calif Hall - Bird singing from two live oaks by patch of low Junipers. E side Wheeler Hall - Singing bird at S & corner, quiet when many people started by. Could not locate him then. Eshleman Rd, Opp. Honning Off - Singing bird on hedge. Flew SE to hedge along Banner Lane Rear of Miracle Bldgs where he sang from fence post near corner. Flew on SE after 5 min, sang once from seedling, went to ground. 2nd minute resumed singing from top of a tree. Flew further S to opp center of Adm Bldgs. Sang from small Mahone. Heard another bird where I first saw this one. This one perked up, flew N toward original spot, but I lost him. Rear Union by S & corner - Singing bird on large stump, sang several minutes. Moved to heavy cover on ground when Calif Jay appeared. Lost him then heard a bird, Assume same one, a little E across path. This bird sang in triangle formed by paths. Alternated with another bird by NE corner Union. Both stopped. NE corner Union, Rear - This bird stopped singing, and when I went over I couldn't locate anything. Rear of Fac Bldg. It is now going on 9:00, after 0830 + I can't find a bird of any kind. Corner Bancroft & Banner Lane - Bird sang from hedge.
