Banks 1957 Journal 13. 16 March 1957 Strawberry Canyon Berkeley Alameda Co. Calif. Led 200 113 field trip looking for birds, Went from parking lot E of Bowles Hall up S.C. Drive cut off tonight to S.) just below Botanical Gardens, ended on Panoramic Way. 4 hr. trip. Nothing unusual but good looks at several common birds. U.C. Campus Berkeley Looking for Song Sparrow & White Crowns. See sp act's (P.M.) Got real cold about 6 P.M. I was out from 5 PM, home about 6:20. 22 March 1957 Campus area, Berkeley Alameda Co. Calif. From 6:20 - 8:00 A.M. looking for White- Crowns. Again from 8:15-9:00 A.M. Found two nests. 23 March 1957. Out about 6:30, around campus area until 10. A.M. Spent 10-10:30 watching Mornin's Dove bird nest in Magnolia Tree outside home, 2214 Warte. Found White crown nest C , empty. 24 March 0700-0745 around campus, checking on nests. One observation on Mornin's Dove. Bright & Sunny today, 25 March 0630-0830 Around campus. Found another nest. Partly clear & cloudy today. 26 March Checked all nests this A.M., 7-8. 27 March 0615-0830. Spent some time on Magnolia, checked all White Crown nests.
