25 July The creek and longspurs every where. Wagtails were
fairly common, but not so Redpolls. Lots of Mew
and Kittiwakes or Crowbill and one of Rough-leg hawk.
The red dog (25) went to the 2nd Alcid colony,
Wiking over the pets. Saw very little on the
way, but a few longspurs, Water Pipits, & Bunting
in the high country. Saw 6+ Pelagic Cormorants,
1 Pigeon + 1 Black Guillemot, 75+ Tufted Puffin, 200+
Horned Puffin, 70,000+ Mewes, 10,000+ K. Hwaker,
1 White Gyrfalcon + 1 Golden Eagle along the ocean.
Found the Gyrfalcon nest, couldn't see young. In the
evening saw one microtine in grass by camp. Spent the
26-27 July 26 & 27 in the valley and lower creek near camp,
looking at planets and for Bluethroats, etc. No luck.
Saw one family Willow Ptarmigan with flying young
(1/3 grown) + an odd Spectacled Eider, which was
collected, plus 6-7 more microtines, 1 Can bore,
2 Red Fox, and a Grizzly Bear. Western Sandpipers,
common along the creek but with nearly full fledged young.
These only with down. Flooding. Saw 1 Northern
Phalarope (adult ?), 1 juv. Red Phalarope. (Dowithey,
1 Semipalmated, and 10-15 Pectorals, including juveniles.

28 July Walking along Crowbill Ridge looking for Wheat-
ears, without luck. A few Water Pipits + longspurs
