P. De Benedicts 1965 29 June Barrow, Alaska suspected as we found 2 more complete nests and saw 2 more pairs. Beyond this and the other knowns: no change in any of the nests out there which we checked and saw good distraction display of almost everything. Bob found a watch of mine I didn't even know I'd lost. Sighted a jaeger, wit I had seen earlier, and at least 2 more pairs but these possibly not nesting. Lots of owls set the. Greenery more conspicuous and seeing new types of flowers. In the evening went out to Klicomet Marsh to check nests and made a few feeding observations and found a new semipalmated nest. The shorebirds here are gentle, restless though not seen yesterday were still present: When I went to check the feeding positions of some plover, the whole group got up and flew AWAY! along with some Pectoral Sandpipers; and saw several flocks of Pectorals and a small group of Bairds (Saw flock of Turnstones & Semipalmated in the Vothlawa). Also lots of L-T. Jaegers in the afternoon. little change in the Lemmings. June 30 Got up for breakfast and went with Hamilton to the Beach Ridge to check on some birds seen yesterday by Dr. Pitella in Central Marsh; It was variably windy, the wind always light and with broken cloud cover and occ. light rains. Almost no snow cover now, and the ridge is nearly dry, Central Marsh is drying out, whether there is still about 4 inches
