suspected as we found 2 more complete nests and saw
2 more pairs. Beyond this and the other knowns:
no change in any of the nests out there which we
checked and saw good distraction display of
almost everything. Bob found a watch of mine I
didn't even know I'd lost. Sighted a jaeger, wit
I had seen earlier, and at least 2 more pairs
but these possibly not nesting. Lots of owls set the.
Greenery more conspicuous and seeing new types
of flowers. In the evening went out to Klicomet
Marsh to check nests and made a few feeding
observations and found a new semipalmated nest.
The shorebirds here are gentle, restless though
not seen yesterday were still present: When I
went to check the feeding positions of some plover,
the whole group got up and flew AWAY! along with
some Pectoral Sandpipers; and saw several flocks
of Pectorals and a small group of Bairds (Saw
flock of Turnstones & Semipalmated in the Vothlawa).
Also lots of L-T. Jaegers in the afternoon. little change in
the Lemmings.
June 30
Got up for breakfast and went with Hamilton to the Beach Ridge
to check on some birds seen yesterday by Dr. Pitella in
Central Marsh; It was variably windy, the wind always light
and with broken cloud cover and occ. light rains. Almost
no snow cover now, and the ridge is nearly dry, Central
Marsh is drying out, whether there is still about 4 inches
