Barrow, Alaska
scattered about, mostly towards the southern part of
the marsh. Fewer ducks (Eider) in the area but
a big group, 125±25, of Glaucesous gulls has moved
into Holmer's Marsh and there are still a few small
groups of jaegers (6-15) out in the Marsh. In the
afternoon I went out to finish a map of the area
Athk to Micomet and locate the shorebird nests on
it; copies placed in the species accounts and one
work sheet made. The only change in nests found before
is that Pusillius nest 14 now has Yeggs; found a new
Semipal and a new Baird's Nest; there came not many
more than 1 or 2 pairs of each out thus yet to be
found. Didn't see any dunlin, and it was very
quiet; two Gulls from the loo followed me out and
I had a time trying to keep them away from
the nests. Stayed in in the evening, writing notes.
There is a group of 75±25 Glaucesous gulls at
S end of Fresh lake which has been present 2-3 days
now.

Trap setting occupied most of the time. Water level had dropped

the ducks seem were here except 1 pair of Eiders; shorebirds
were very scarce, almost all being Phalaropes. Didn't
