P. De Benedichis 1965 4 July Barnow, Albury [illegible] an occasional Dunlin. It was really quite quiet. Most of the shorebirds were concentrated in VOTH slough where the stream was shallow, and the Dowitchers + tewitlers were strongly flushed; still a good group of Ducks near the FAA tower. From VOTH slough I walked down the creek to Footprint Lake along the W side of the stream, which was a mistake, as the stream is at least 4 feet deep above VOTH slough and Footprint, though drained, is impossible. There were scattered Phalaropes and W. T. Peatrails along the creek, especially where it widened out, and Footprint Lake itself contained a number of these, as well as a few ducks and jaegers (retro dowitchers). I had to turn double back to VOTH slough and out across directly to Gasoline Ridge at trap hills TTT, and went from there to the polygonized area near the meadow lakes. Saws mostly jaegers and Phalaropes between this area, and all but 1 White- rumup were seen here. The area south of the Meadow lakes was very barren - Peatrails + Phalaropes. I could see a group of birds in the SW end of Actual Marsh so I went there to find that this group of Plovers and dowitchers had moved to here. There were no 'peep'; Peatrails + Phalaropes were widely distributed on the marsh, and the jaegers groups seemed to have left or moved. Walked into the lab along the road, and saw little - the gulls are gone from the road site; checked
