Meade River Coal Mine, 152°25' W, 78°27'4, Alas
To the cereal slyrid butterflies. I saw and
caught a Colies and Bow a possilbe Boleing sp.
When I got back to camp Mary Blauer was
showing everyone about and Then a 3 phalange
came by along the river obviously breeding
ducks. I caught two of them - a strange
place to find them. I put everything in
the icebox and went to do dives on the
orboes with Dr. Augus. Saw a Golden Eagle
and a King Eider with 4 chicks on the way
up. There were no birds on the dives but
inland in the Sunday area, a pair of
Blood-bellies gave distraction displays
near the a Cane pool (nearly dry) and 8-10
Semi-pols and 1-2 perturbs in the area
acted very alarmed. No other shore birds
were noted. Spent the evening putting up
drinks, until 3 A.M. Figure I'll sleep most
of tomorrow.

I did. In the afternoon went to plots -
graph some Podecathion on the far side of
the river, which I found yesterday. I
walked along its willows seeing few trib,
mostly Semipols and Semi-polo. One pair
of the latter gave strong distraction displays
here. Afternoon and evening spent around camp.
Weather poor.
