Clay is obtained on road from
Waco to Cobb Ferry, about 1/2
m'l E of junction of Waco-
Cobb Ferry road with pike thru
Waco to Divine. Thickness in
an average 6 or about 5 ft. The
clay rests the Black Shale.
Clay is brought to slimp and
glazed as jugged, using one
horse and tub. Taken from
jug to cellar;

Blaze with slip clay get
from New York, delivered to

pottery is dipped + dried,
and then vt's to the
Kiler.
Used as down draft kiln, fuel:
coal, heat up slowly for about
24 hours; and raise to white
heat in 24. Leavers great
hole, + use a try piece, where
the clay is good on this try piece
and it clues. Curl 50 hours,
