At end of Jackson hollow, about 1 mi SE of Boston, Earthy beds of Black Slate. 9 in, Der. l. 11ft chiefly clay with thorns to included in lower parts. 9 in limestone 5ft chiefly clay, very little else. 14ft. Thin of or rather thick layers of limestone with clay & clay beneath, 10ft to top red sandy layer with white fiddella crumma. Days crimson leady crumma about 14ft below top. 8ft. Massive Chint in lace. 92, at Mathrroys dunel & strm, Black slate. 16 in. greyish argil. 10 in very chiefly Der. l. 10 in. grey. a little chalk. 16 in. greyish Der. l. 12 in. Reddish laminated Argout 12 in. reddish lamin. Gypsum. 5 ft of Der. estimated at 43 feet above top of massive Chint & l. 870 feet at 12:30 92. S of Log Cabin school house, Fault line. 6ft trip to bare clay section. 8ft 4 in. Massive Chinta. 52 ft Ordovician. Dermium absent? 93. North side gully of Grand Creek, at base Black shale, 4ft clay with layers, Dermian absent. 8 in. l. believed to be Gypsum, 12ft Gypsum clay. middle limestone. Further N. there is a fault with Black shale on S and Ordovician on north. 94 S of for Smith. White Gypsum shale. clay 2 1/2 ft trip to hard clay argil in Black thin Black shale. 6 in candy Der. Argil. Gypsum clay. 95 On road going E (white) H- Black Slate on Gypsum l., 3 inches Ordovician clay.
