96 On road going E, SE side of valley 4 ft. top of white clay rock in B.S. this [illegible] Black Shale, 2 m. Der.l., Fish scale. 14 m. [illegible]. reddish hmm. 10 ft. [illegible] clay, stream bed. The rock above the fish tooth larger away is equivalent to some of the Der. beds claced with Der. l. elsewhere. There are some clayey beds in Black shale further up which are probably the clay beds elsewhere. 97 Bear Wall m., 995 ft at 2,450 M. White [illegible] Clay with fern [illegible] sandy stuff in it. Bottom well 1060 ft. N.gtonm, 293 D E of Locality 273. Rocky Fork. Black Shale beads + Cyathiphyllid crabs. 5 1/2 ft. brecciated layer with crushed 3 ft. l. with coarse chert. 3 1/2 ft. grey l. very little chat, 6 in. [illegible] Der.l. Rocks much broken + section difficult. A short distance west is a clear section of 11 1/2 ft. Devonian l. a few ft are 1 ft layer of massive Be- good limestone. 23 ft beneath Devonian not well exposed. 10 ft. Several heavy beds of limestone at top of sec- tion. Coarse limestone one wedging the layer with large crumbly beads. Lower part of [illegible] + Chint m. not in shape to measure here.
