(35 71. - at Braasfield Black Shale. 1/2 ft brecciated 4 " same fossils over chert 1/2 ft bluish stone earthy " Oozed clay, Blue Clay - is seen in R&R cut nearby, this part 8 inches over depth of preceding section. 72. 10:00 NE of Irvine, 56 1/4 ft No exposure except at top: foot 56 ft Merthyr & Cardiff shales, in tuffs Shear but some in artesian sample. then a sandstone of fragments of 210 ft Chazy gray below up to 100 ft Glabic nodular layer 7 ft rock, grey clay shale same phm 49 ft Hard clay with bit above + bit at the 2 & 1/2 ft red. Clay from stone at top. 11 1/2 at top is flinty clay weak layers gather in shaly Below very dirty or extra part at the top greyish clay 3 8 ft [illegible] clay nodules, some run 13 ft grey shale, iron stains at top, up to this level 5-1 inches thick 5ft. plinplate nodules scattered Shale 95/2 ft from road to top of Black Base of Black Shale not seen
