(79 256. Byrn, N of Crab Orchard, Black Slate. 12 ft Devil, oz ath oply slud end + Blithing plyllum not well preserved. Bym beds healthy red with brim except top 4 in our which are decorated grey, From 257. Dixie crossing, towards 256, Dev Limestone. 65 ft of clay black well exposed face not seen. Massive bed overlying lower Brum Middle clay not exposed. 11ft to level of bridge. 5 ft limestone alternating with clay rock especially along middle corresponding to 5X clay layer. Slu tip 10 in = solid limestone also the bottom 8 in = 2 layers cold lime. 14 ft successive limestone, Large crinoid heads + what ? shells islands looking limestone. Going N a large mass of limestone slat, presumably the 2 ft layer, lies 10 ft above the level of the bridge. From far it has dropped form in situ to incline. 39 ft above the bridge, by min N of the bridge, where the steeper part of level begins, the 2 latter layers will be seen to dip towards the south. On North of hill going down towards Drake creek, large successive specimens of columnar varia's halls are common; according to my calcs allows they join 75 feet below. Chatham at least but there is a fault nearby at least. At this fault the large beds on south have dropped, dip is South. Plenty strophosic layers extend at least 25-40 above Drake creek at N side. About in accordance to level of 70 feet higher my last club undermined + fault. Under to present level along my line, Black Slate 3/4 mls NE of Swine.
