more into sandstone.
This is in harmony
with the character of the Barrejr, or
sandstone of Richmond age,
The Queenston shales have nearly always
irregular much squeezed and stickin sides (
where shales not or in sandy-sholes), from
lurms but these are not at all of the
character of the Arthrophychus.
Medina, The basal sandstone (Whitford?)
are made up as follows frm base upward:-
Basal coarse grained sandstone bed. Regu-
larly bedded beds, cross-bedded above and often
deeply channeled. One bed 5 ft thick.
Second thick bed 3 ft thick, also much
cross bedded.
Then irregularly bedded coarse grained
sandstone 8 ft thick. T? ? Whitford.
Regularly bedded, thin bedded, light
colored sandstone, with shale partings,
