yosemite trips May 11-16 - 1927.
May 16. Worked on the lot during morning, watered fruit trees and burned dry brush. Lunch on pier at Santa Cruz - drove to Berkeley in afternoon - Weather still beautiful.
May 11-16. Birds seen:
Western Grebe - several at Sea Cliff May 15-
Glauconous-winged Gull (yr.) at Santa Cruz Pier May 16.
W.Gulls Sea Cliff and Santa Cruz
Forster Terns - many near Merced River May 14-in marsh
Black Terns - " " " " " "
Cormorants - Sea Cliff and Santa Cruz.
Calif. Brown Pelicans Sea Cliff - about 12.
Shearwaters - a line flying close to water near horizon line from one point of bay to the other - seen from 11:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. when I could no longer detect them. May 15
Pintail duck - one - in marsh near Merced River May 14.
Surf Geese - many feeding in surf, others resting beyond breaker at Sea Cliff May 15
Tufted Duck - 2 pr. in marsh near Merced R. May 14-
St. Blue Heron - near Merced May 14
Egret (?) - in marsh near Merced River. stood on edge of water in posture of St. Blue Heron, then flew with slow flaps - (Black bill?) otherwise pure white. May 14.
