Dec.12-Dec.20- Tos tried to prepare for Christmas or write letters.
Read and rested whenever possible . Wnt to Cooper Club-
meeting Dec.17 - in rain - Nominated for President for coming
year- Very little frost so far.
Dec.21. A banded Hermit Thrush came to pool . Band very new
and shining.
Dec. 27,23. Banded Thrush seen at pool.
Dec 23-30- Beautiful weather. Chilly nights, clear sunny days.
Dec.31- Drove to Saratoga where we spent the night at the Inn.
Stopped at San Jose where we bought six fruit trees .
Jan.1- 1926.
Drove on to Boulder Creek over the Los Gatos Highway-
a glorious morning - Arrived about 11 a. m and
planted seven fruit trees on our lot before lunch. Lunched
at Redwood Rest. Returned to the lot where I heard a
Water Ouzel singing . Watched it five minutes,
while it sang continually . The white eyedid flashed
out very clearly - Noticed that its motions on top of
a stone were the same as the motions of the water
as it rippled past a stone which projected just
above the water. The color of the bird was also the
same as the wet granite. Returned by way of the Big
Basin where we saw eight or ten deer - very tame.
