3 Song Sparrows, Brown Towhee, Fox Sparrow, Golden-crowned Sparrow, and several juncos one of which has a white spot half as large as a dime just back of each eye. [illegible] Thrush still feeding on berries outside dining-room window (south). It often hovers at the top of the window pecking either at the upper edge of the pane or at the casing above. Is it catching spiders? No thrashers about though last year they fed frequently in this bush so that the berries were gone soon after Thanksgiving. This year there is a large crop of berries in the canyons and on the hillslopes wherever we drive. Have heard a thrasher sing only once during last two months from the house and then it was so far away as to be almost in audible. Dec. 30, 31 - Rain
