1927 Oct. 21. Went to Alameda. Though tide was right no birds came in to Kiddler (15?) flew over. Fenside Boulevard core. In estuary found 1 Willet and 3 Godwits- Oak Bay shore - Bay Farm Island - now the Oakland Airport - found 2 B.B. Plover, Sandpipers, a few Godwits (5?), 1 Willet, a few Eared Grebe-? At Lake Merritt (at feeding time 4 p.m.), killed several hundred Pintail , 40(?) Baldpates , 1 Spoonbill (eclipse) , Snow Geese, 1 Hutchins (?) Cackling?) Goose. 1 White fronted Goose- Warm with fog at night. Oct. 25. W. Winter Wren calling. Oct. 26. " " " " . Fox Sparrow came to drinking fountain at breakfast time. After a few minutes of hesitation he flew on to the table. Not banded. Heavy rain, first of season. Oct. 27. Fox Sparrow on table at breakfast time. Very seldom a bird on table - seeds last for days. Oct 28. Rain at night. Oct. 29. Rain at night. Oct. 30. Rain, all day and night. Oct. 31. Clear. A light n. wind. Nov. 4. Drove to Boulder Creek. Very few birds. Nov. 5. Returned to Berkeley via Palo Alto - to Skyline Boulevard to S.F. Nov. 6. Rain - W. Winter Wren heard. Nov. 7, 8, 9 , heavy rains. Hermit Thrush singing. Nov. 15- Clear 1 Fox Sparrows, 1 male rail, 1 Hermit Thrush, 1 Teal ?Song Sparrow , 1 Brown Towhee came to table No Spotted Towhees about - I comes to pool occasionally but now am
