Sept. 24 - Went to Baumberg with Mrs. Saunders. Many Killdeer, Yellow Legs both Greater and Lesser, and Wilson Snipe which we saw very near. Several flushed from a roadside pool which was almost choked with vegetation, circled about with zig.zag flight and droppeded a little further on.
Finally found one motionless and erect - wonderfully protected in color. When flushed they utered a scraping "screep".
We must have seen 8-10.
